Our Mission
MAFAC's goals are to provide to busy, Massachusetts families and those who care for them: 1. Advocacy, consultation and training on a sliding-scale fee basis. 2. A one-stop resource
for information, ideas and access to available services. 3. Up-to-date, relevant news, including
alerts and warnings. 4. An opportunity to affect and increase awareness of critical issues
and legislation.
- MAFAC
is founded on the principle that all children deserve the best opportunities to reach their fullest potential and that families
are the key to reaching that goal.
- In particular,
MAFAC is dedicated to providing advocacy to parents and families on behalf of children who have special educational and/or
behavioral needs.
- In addition, there have been limited
resources for Family and Child professionals seeking to help families who do not necessarily receive case management or resource
and referral through any agency. These professionals spend countless hours staying current in their own fields of expertise
making it impossible for them to keep up-to-date in areas traditionally within the focus of social workers and other family
support professionals. Nonetheless, many families are in need of this information but are not connected with any case
management or referral professional or agency. MAFAC seeks to fill this void by providing a resource for these professionals
to use when the need arises to connect families to available services.
MAFAC invites families and community members to contribute to the site. Consultation, Professional Development and Training MAFAC associates
include experts in the areas of Child Development, Childcare and Early Education, Special Education, Family and Child Policy
and more. Staff is available for individual consultation and group training. For more information about our consulting
services, please email us at info@mafamilyandchild.org or call us at 617-393-3704.
